Notification Of Business Changes

Some business changes also require re-submission of a Copy of Legal Notice to be Published for publication in accordance with the procedures for registering an assumed name.

Business changes requiring new publication of legal notice.

• Adding a business partner
  If a person wishes to add his or her name to gain ownership or financial interest in the business, an additional or supplementary certificate must be filed with the Clerk's office and the business must publish a new legal notice in a local newspaper:
  
  • Re-submit: Assumed Name Application* adding or changing one or more business partners.
    

  • Submit: Copy of Legal Notice to be Published* in accordance with procedures for Registering an Assumed Name.
    

• Name change
  If any person on the Assumed Name Certificate changes his or her name, or the name of the business changes:
  
  • Submit either: Notification of Name Change* if an individual on the certificate changes his or her name.
    

  • Or Re-submit: Assumed Name Application* if the business name changes.
    

  • Submit: Copy of Legal Notice to be Published* in accordance with procedures for Registering an Assumed Name.
    

Business changes requiring notification of the Clerk's office only

• Dissolution of a business
  Dissolution of a business requires termination of the assumed name:
  
  • Submit: Notification of Cancellation or Dissolution of Business*.
    

• Change of address
  If any person on the Assumed Name Certificate changes his or her residence address, or the address of the business changes:
  
  • Submit: Change of Address*.
    

• Withdrawal of business partner
  If a person wishes to withdraw his or her name and have no further connection with or financial interest in the business:
  
  • Submit: Notification of Withdrawal of Partner*.
