I am pleased to present to you the Cook County Integrated Criminal Justice Information Systems (CCICJIS) Strategic Plan.  The CCICJIS Committee, which was established by the Cook County Board Resolution dated April 23, 2002, has been working diligently over the last 12 months discussing issues concerning the sharing of information across justice information systems, and making recommendations for improvements.  The product of this effort is a 133 page document that examines eight (8) strategic issues, which are critical to consider in achieving the goals of an integrated criminal justice enterprise for Cook County.  Recommendations are made for each issue.

The members of the CCICJIS Committee urge your thoughtful consideration for the ideas and strategies expressed in this Strategic Plan.  I respectfully submit this report to you, and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, and look forward to building upon the vision of Cook County by providing the citizens of Cook County with an integrated criminal justice system that provides accurate, timely and complete information, while protecting the rights and safety of our citizens.
