requesting authorization to accept a grant award in the amount of $302,711.00 from the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. This grant will enable the State’s Attorney’s Office to continue to contract with Life Span Center for Legal Services and Advocacy and Hull House Association to provide services to high-risk victims of domestic violence under the State’s Attorney’s Target Abuser Call (TAC) Program. Specifically, grant funds support the salaries and fringe benefits of two (2) domestic violence court advocates from Hull House and one (1) civil staff attorney from Life Span.
There is no match contribution required for this grant.
The authorization to apply for this grant was given on January 23, 2003 by the Cook County Board of Commissioners.

DENNIS MANZKE, Chief of the Administrative Services Bureau, State’s Attorney’s Office
requesting authorization to renew a grant in the amount $123,600.00 from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA). This grant provides a fourth year of continued funding for the Youth Gun Violence Program. This program serves juveniles who have been charged with first and second-time nonviolent firearm offenses with the goal of preventing future gun violence. The program is a partnership between the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Cook County Circuit Court’s Juvenile Probation Department and Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network. The program funds a full-time weapons data specialist within the State’s Attorney’s Office who coordinates program components and tracks weapons charges in juvenile court. Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network functions as the service provider and facilitates program elements.

This grant requires that the office match one dollar for each three dollars of federal funding. The match commitment for this program is a cash match that funds the fringe benefits and a portion of the salary for the state’s attorney’s weapons data specialist.

This Program Addendum allows Loyola University Medical Center radiation oncology residents to rotate through Stroger Hospital of Cook County. Approximately two (2) residents per year would rotate for two (2) months each. This rotation would supplement the gynecological oncology experience for radiation oncology residents of Loyola University Medical Center.

requesting authorization for the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement with Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis, Indiana, for the purpose of having Stroger Hospital of Cook County participate in the Zyprexa Indigent Patient Program.
Under the agreement Eli Lilly and Company will replace on a monthly basis those Zyprexa medications which were dispensed to qualified patients whose income is at or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines, and who otherwise lack public or private insurance coverage. The replacement medications will be shipped directly to the hospital and placed into the operating inventory.
The hospital estimates that participation in the Zyprexa Indigent Patient Program will result in an annual cost savings of $205,000.00 for the hospital.
