Cook County Clerk David Orr was recently elected first vice-president of the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks (NACRC), the nations largest organization of county elected officials.
Orr, who serves as chief election authority for Cook County, the third largest jurisdiction in the country, had previously served as second vice president and as chairman of NACRCs election committee, which helped develop national election reform initiatives.
Serving as an officer on NACRC provides a great opportunity to help improve how county government operates locally and on a national level, said Orr, who has been a member of NACRC since becoming clerk in 1990. Orr had previously served as co-chairman of NACRCs elections committee
Other new officers include: St. Louis County, Minn., Recorder Mark Monacelli as president; Broward County, Fla., Director of Records Sue Baldwin as second vice-president; and Merrimack County, N.H., Register of Deeds Kathi Guay as third vice-president.
